The Danube – Europe’s transport axis represented at the 2007 Transport Logistics Trade Fair - Joint stand to present the range of Danube navigation services

Pressemeldungen Pressemeldungen

Already for the third time, the joint “Danube stand", coordinated by via donau, Österreichische Wasserstraßengesellschaft, is present at the transport logistics Trade Fair in Munich. With its diverse programme of events, the “Danube stand” will again be a meeting point for inland navigation experts and visitors from manufacturing, logistics and industry.

The Danube stand is hosted by nine agencies, shipping and freight forwarding companies which are active in goods transport on the Danube and want to present their range of services. “With our joint appearance at this international event, we want to draw attention to the potential of Danube navigation and raise the awareness among industry and the transport sector of inland navigation as a reliable and cost-efficient transport mode”, states Manfred Seitz, managing director of via donau. The trade fair stand, whose design symbolises the Danube, not only has a very captivating appearance, it also offers a high level of useful in-depth information: the presentation of excellent exhibitors is supplemented by informative lectures and round-table talks with navigation experts. Every day there is programme on issues such as River Information Services for Business, Container Liner Services on the Danube or Success Stories of the Danube.

In addition to via donau, the Austrian companies represented at the stand include TINA Vienna and Industrie Logistik Linz. International partners are the Ukrainian shipping company Danube Shipping Management, the freight forwarder Rubiships from Bulgaria, the container liner service operator Mainrom Line from Romania, TINC ASSOCIATES from Belgium and the national Danube navigation development agencies CRUP Inland Navigation Development Centre from Croatia and Plovput Belgrade from Serbia.

As in previous years, the strengthening of cross-border co-operation among the Danube countries with the joint goal of increasing the importance of the Danube as a European transport axis also continues to be the central concern of the joint stand in 2007. Visitors will gain a comprehensive insight into the transport infrastructure of the Danube region, the transport potentials of Danube navigation and Danube navigation services in general. And last, but not least, the joint appearance also serves to promote an intensive exchange of experiences and opinions between companies from the European Union.
