Annual report 2008 on Danube navigation in Austria published by via donau

On 40 pages the report provides concise facts and figures on issues such as transport volumes, port transhipment, modal split, fairway conditions, locked-through vessel units and passenger transport. In addition, a summary of current developments in waterway and ports infrastructure, innovation, politics and law is given. This information is completed by a brief outline of key data for hurried readers and by useful waterway maps.

Compared to the first edition the annual report has been enhanced by information on freight transport intensity on the Austrian Danube, freight transport on the entire Danube, availability of the waterway (closures due to high water and ice) and knowledge transfer. Moreover, the report will also be published in English soon.
