Environmental statement: via donau presents programme and management system to improve environmental performance

via donau

The newly published via donau environment statement for 2009 documents the introduction of the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) at via donau. The brochure lays out concrete measures for the years 2009 and 2010. This environmental statement reports on the implications of the company’s activities on the environment, its environmental performance and its environmental goals. via donau is now fully committed to a sustainable environmental efficiency in all its activities and projects.

"via donau will also improve its environmental performance in the future and live the philosophy of eco-management,“ emphasises via donau Managing Director Hans-Peter Hasenbichler. A crucial part of this is the implementation of the environmental programme – one that contains concrete measures and specific targets – among which energy-saving measures for all locations and an improved car fleet management.

In March 2009 via donau carried out the first internal environmental audit. Its implementation at the different locations was closely followed by the external audit in May 2009. via donau is now listed in the register of EMAS organisations.

The via donau brochure “Umwelterklärung 2009” (Environmental Statement 2009) presents all details on the specific targets, measures, time-frames and responsibilities in order to introduce the environmental management system.
