via donau has an ADCP ultra-sound technology (acoustic Doppler current profiler) whose measurement quality surpasses by far the methods used up to now. Streamflow measurements, throughput measurements and depth measurements are conducted from bridges or ships by taking advantage of the Doppler effect to produce any number of measurement profiles. Measurements from bridges and ships are done by using current meters, measuring spheres and floats lines. via donau views the task of measuring flood outflows as a special challenge.
