FÖRDERUNGEN INTERNATIONAL

LIFE+ (2007 - 2013)

Geltungsbereich: international

LIFE is the EU’s financial instrument supporting environmental and nature conservation projects throughout the EU, as well as in some candidate, acceding and neighbouring countries.  The LIFE+ programme (2007-2013) follows on from the LIFE III programme (2000-2006). The LIFE+ programme comprises three components:

Marco Polo

Geltungsbereich: international

Marco Polo II (2007-2013)

Marco Polo is the European Union's funding programme for projects which shift freight transport from the road to sea, rail and inland waterways. This means fewer trucks on the road and thus less congestion, less pollution, and more reliable and efficient transport of goods. Apart from EU Member States, companies from Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein are eligible for funding under the Marco Polo II programme.

Marco Polo I (2003-2006)

The Programme's objective is to reduce road congestion and to improve the environmental performance of the freight transport system within the Community and to enhance intermodality, thereby contributing to an efficient and sustainable transport system. To achieve this objective, the Programme supports actions in the freight transport, logistics and other relevant markets.

PHARE – Poland and Hungary Action for the Restructuring of the Economy (2000 - 2006)

Geltungsbereich: international

This programme was created for the new EU Member States and EU candidate countries Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary (also: Malta, Cyprus and Turkey). The focus is on supporting these countries in smaller projects (project proposals) and implementing the EU’s acquis communautaire.

Security Research (2004 - 2006)

Geltungsbereich: international

Europe needs to tackle threats that are more diverse, less visible, and less predictable. This calls for behavioural changes as well as more innovative means to deal with complex situations to address security in a comprehensive manner ("comprehensive security").

The Preparatory Action is designed to assess the need for a further initiative that will complement and liaise with existing and future intergovernmental schemes; be open to all EU members and operate on the basis of Community principles; and contribute to bridging the current gap between generic civil research (as supported by EC Framework programmes) and national and intergovernmental programmes oriented to defence procurement needs.

Since 2007, the European Commission will fund security research by selecting projects proposals submitted under the Seventh Research Framework Programme (FP7).

SOUTH-EAST EUROPE 2007-2013

Geltungsbereich: international

The programme's global objective is to improve the territorial, economic and social integration process in South East Europe and contribute to cohesion, stability and competitiveness of the area through the development of transnational partnerships and joint action on matters of strategic importance. The SEE Transnational Cooperation programme has been created out of the former INTERREG IIIB CADSES Programme. In the new Structural Funds Period (2007-2013), the CADSES transnational cooperation area has been divided into two spaces: South East Europe and Central Europe, each of them benefiting as a distinct area: the South East Europe Programme and the Central programme.

The South East Europe Programme Area includes 16 countries. For 14 countries the eligible area is the whole territory of the country, namely for Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Greece, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia and Moldova.
